Over fishing
Our oceans are in danger and we need to help save them. Why, Do you ask? Every two minutes a dolphin, porpoise or small whale will die due to over fishing globally, and if we take away one of the species from the oceans we are killing the ecosystem.
So what exactly is over fishing? Over fishing happens when an area of water is fished so often by large fishing boats that there are only a few fish and marine life left, and they aren’t given enough time to repopulate before those boats come back for more! Over fishing is one of the biggest contributors to species extinction worldwide and often catch more than just fish in their nets. Commercial fishing boats can catch up to 1,000 fish per day, but sometimes pull in other marine life such as sharks, birds, dolphins, porpoises and turtles. These sea creatures are classified as by catch, animals who are caught in nets and on long lines but cannot be sold for food and so are thrown back into the water, but many die from wounds inflicted by the nets.when you are throwing back the fish you can’t sell for food is just like throwing a hopeless child into the sea.
But there is a way we can help to fix this mess. Three things you can do to help creating a safer environment for marine life are contribute to an organisation dedicated to preventing over fishing, educate others and spread the word and think about what fish you’re buying from the supermarket.
It is OK to fish with a rod but it is not OK to fish in commercial fishing boats or anything like that, because who knows how many fish will DIE maybe 100,1000,or even 10,000 fish will die in one day, and how sad would that be, if we keep up this gruesome attitude our kids,kids...kids will never see the wildlife in the sea and never swim in the reefs with sharks, dolphins and fish ever and won't be able to fish with their rod and their dad!
Some modern trawl nets are so huge they can fit thirteen Boeing 747 airplanes in their opening so that is 9,555,000 pounds all together wow WARNING! if you start fishing it is a hard habit to break I mean hard habit to break so don’t get the idea of starting to fish..
Wow great speech did you get in the finals? I hope that this speech will help stop overfishing but I did see some capitals that shouldn’t be there.
